“My Notebook and Who?”

Jesse Boykins III, aka JBIII, is a 22 year old, up and coming R&B singer, who’s music has a jazzy and soulful sound. Jesse’s passion for creating feel good music has always inspired me. Read on to hear my (Haizy of Def Pen Radio’s) interview with the soulful R&B artist himself, JBIII.

Haizy: Let the readers know Where you from ? and Where your headed Jesse?

JBIII: What’s goin on , JBIII here from Miami but my family is from Jamaica.. Raised in Jamaica and Miami… Yard Boy

Haizy: So I hear your working on an EP? Can you tell us what to expect?

JBIII: Yea I’m actually releasing it in the next month. Its called “Dopamine: My Life On My Back”I actually did most of the production and had my band the Beauty Created play on all the tracks… As far as lyrically its inspired by relationships and not realizing what u had until its gone…

Haizy: What can we find in your EP that wasn’t in your album “My Notebook and I”?

JBIII: The “My Notebook and I” hasn’t dropped yet.. U can look at the EP as a postquel and its a little more soulful than the LP.

Haizy: What you plan on happening after the release of ” My Life on My Back ” ?

JBIII: I plan on gettin more of my music out and heard , having a product people can hear on there ipod, in the car, speakers at work…etc. I also wanna do a lot more shows around the states and shut down NY.

Haizy: What can your fans expect from JBIII in 2008?

JBIII: Expect good music, music from the heart, music I put my all into…. Quality and also expect the clothing line coming soon and basically just keep ya eyes focused this way..

Haizy: Can you tell us more about your clothing line? What is it called? What is the concept?

JBIII: Haha.. I wouldn’t call it a line, its my merchandise.. And all the designs were created by Jay Woo my homie , and he is also the cat who designed my logo http://Jaywoodesigns.com

Haizy: I think you have good style, Can you give the readers some insight on your thoughts of street style now?

JBIII: I do?…naw , I just like clothes I like tryin things… Im a jeans and T shirt dude…. But I hit the vintage store here and there.

Haizy: Who’s some of your favorite artist right now and why?

JBIII: I would say Bilal, Eric Roberson, PJ Morton, and Raheem Devaugn, these cats understand the hustle and there passion is pure… They create and thats what inspires me!
